8 Days Specials X-Mas, New Year, Easter

Grey-cloudy Christmas spoil your mood? Do you see New Year’s fireworks as useless pollution? Easter in the rain isn’t your thing either? Then we have the counter-program for you here: white Christmas is almost guaranteed in Lapland, on New Year’s Eve we have often had a very special firework with exploding northern lights in the sky and looking for Easter eggs in the snow is much more fun than cloudy weather.

We have come up with a program for you where you can spend the holidays relaxed and at the same time experience Lapland and spend a lot of time with our dogs. We deliberately chose the program so that it is also suitable for families with children from around 8 years of age, but that shouldn’t stop a group of friends from booking. Since we know that these public holidays in particular often have different school holiday and vacation dates, all dates can still be flexibly adjusted. And we are also happy to adapt the program to your wishes.

The following program is therefore only a rough suggestion and varies in the order of activities depending on the date.

20.900 SEK per person

only 3-4 guests on tour

Day 1

We will pick you up from Arvidsjaur or Jörn. Having arrived at our kennel you will get your clothes for the tour and we will take time to meet the dogs. During a dinner together we can talk about what will happen the next days.

Day 2

After breakfast the adventure begins. You will receive an introduction to sledding and how to handle the dogs. Together we let the dogs out, put on the harnesses, put them in front of the sled and faster than you think we’re ready to go. Today we will drive a tour of about 20-30km. During dinner we have time to talk about your impressions of the first day and to answer questions on how you can still improve sledding.

Day 3

Today is an overnight tour with a night outdoors in a tent (we use a heated tent on cold winter days). Depending on the route and weather conditions, the daily stages are between 25 and 50 km. All tasks on the tour are done by the group together and as a team, from feeding and caring for the dogs, collecting/chopping firewood, fetching water or melting snow to preparing meals.

Day 4

We are coming back from our overnight tour. On the Christmas day, cutting down the Christmas tree together is on the program for the afternoon. On the Easter date we could schedule an Easter egg hunt for that day.

Day 5

Today we are going on a snowshoe tour. With a bit of luck we will find reindeer, foxes, rabbits, birds or at least their tracks. On the Christmas day, the Christmas tree is decorated in the afternoon and then the Christmas dinner is on the agenda.

Day 6

In the morning you can try your luck at ice fishing, in the afternoon/early evening we go on a Northern Lights tour, either by dog sled or by car and/or snowshoes.

Day 7

This day is a free day. Our dogs have time to relax after the tour and you can decide if you want to do the same or experience some other winter activities in the area. Of course, you can also help to care for the dogs on this day.

Day 8

Now it’s time to say goodbye to the dogs… but just until your next tour 😉

Advice for the Sled Dog Tours

With up to 3 adult participants, everyone drives his/her own team. With 4 adult participants or with the participation of children, there will be one or more teams with double crew. That is, one drives the sled, one sits in it. If the children are old/strong enough, we can sometimes swap drivers.

Tour Requirements

This tour is suitable for all with normal physical fitness and health. No former sled dog experience is needed. For safety reasons for you and the dogs please read and respect our tour requirements regarding age and weight limits that you can find here.

We provide you with the outer layer of clothes. To enjoy the tour it’s always good to have the right combination of clothes and equipment. So, please find our equipment recommendation here.

Since the tour is exclusive only for 3-4 people we have the possibility to adapt and customize it to your wishes. Just let us know. If you are a family of more than 4 please ask us so we can find a way to adapt the program for you.

Please be aware that changes in the program can be necessary if weather and trail conditions change.
