Cute, Cuter, Puppies 🥰

I can’t believe, our little „Lion Kings“ are already two months old, almost, and they are getting cuter and cuter every day 😃

Would you like to get some updates on how they have developed? Ok, here it comes…

Simba is, of course, still the smallest puppy. But that doesn’t mean anything. His broken leg couldn’t stop him from exploring the world around him, running, jumping, climbing, etc. Indeed, it seems that he is the bravest of them all. At the same time he listens very well. That probably comes because of much extra care like saving an extra portion food for him, taking him on the arm when it seems the little boy is freezing, protecting him from his siblings when they play too hard with him, and so on, and so on.

Nala is our small little girl, the only one in the litter. She is always keeping her head up, looking where you are to get some cuddles. She is very social with all humans but also with her brothers.

Mufasa is one of the big boys. He likes to be outside in the snow. In the beginning he was one of those kind of puppies you can easily overlook because he doesn’t cause trouble and is just there. But now he wants to have more and more attention, especially if he gets too less cuddles – in his opinion 😂🙈

Rafiki is our little malamute. From being the smallest boy after Simba he has become the biggest of all puppies and with his fluffy fur and special color it is really not difficult for him to attract new visitors. Beside this he is a little monster when it comes to feeding. If you don’t stop him, he comes like a bulldozer and within seconds all food is gone 😋

Zazu developed a bit in the other direction. As long as the puppies lived in our house he was always the first out of the bed to see what is happening and was often barking excited on persons that came closer. Now he is a bit more calm, sometimes even shy in some situations and always wants to be close to humans or his siblings to be safe. By the way, did you recognize the change of his fur color? From being more or less black (with a bit white) in the beginning he is now grey, a very special color and also his eye color is quite special. It still can change but at the moment it is neither brown nor blue but a light green instead.

Timon is still very special in his „painting“. Also his color changed. His dots are no longer black but grey and I really appreciate the mixed color on his ears. He is a really nice little puppy, not too crazy but very social.

Pumba is our third big guy next to Rafiki and Mufasa. He likes to be cuddled – ok, who doesn’t? ☺️ He listens very well and always pays attention to what you say and what is happening around him.

You love them all? We truly understand that 😉 So we have an idea: if you are in the area or plan to visit Lappland the next weeks, come and visit us. Our puppies are two months old now, best time for cuddling and playing around with them. So, contact us to book a kennel visit. Coronasafe outside, with a lot of information about dogs and mushing, enjoy cuddles with the adult dogs in our free run area while we are cooking coffee over open fire and of course take wonderful photos of the young ones. And last but not least one more topic for today: In the last weeks we got a lot of questions about what a husky or husky puppy costs and if it is possible to adopt or sponsor them. To answer these questions: if you buy an Alaskan husky puppy it often costs between 6000 and 12000 SEK, depending on the bloodlines behind, the breeder, if they already have passport and vaccinations, etc. So, one could think that breeding your own puppies is much better. Yes, it is for many reasons, especially because you know the parents very good and have the chance to socialize the puppies from the first day on. But of course, there are also reasons to buy puppies, e.g. you want a new bloodline in your kennel or you want to have only one or two young dogs. Anyway, the decision to breed your own puppies is not to safe money. You need a lot for food, supplements like milk powder if necessary (like in our case for little Simba), veterinarian costs, deworming, vaccinations, chips, passports, etc. But having dogs is never cheap, you forego on monetary values to live a life with the dogs that gives so much more than money can. Nevertheless it is our goal to give our dogs the best possible care with good food, good equipment and also vet visits and medicine whenever needed. Süß, Süßer, Puppies 🥰

Ich kann es nicht glauben, unsere kleinen “Löwenkönige” sind schon zwei Monate alt, fast, und sie werden jeden Tag süßer und süßer 😃

Möchtet ihr ein Update, wie sie sich entwickelt haben? Ok, hier kommt es…

Simba ist natürlich immer noch der Kleinste. Aber das bedeutet nichts. Sein gebrochenes Bein konnte ihn nicht davon abhalten, die Welt um ihn herum zu erkunden, zu laufen, zu springen, zu klettern usw. Tatsächlich scheint er der Mutigste von allen zu sein. Gleichzeitig hört er sehr gut zu. Das kommt wahrscheinlich weil er immer eine Extra-Portion Aufmerksamkeit erhält wie eine zusätzliche Portion Essen für ihn, ihn auf den Arm zu nehmen, wenn es scheint, dass er friert, ihn vor seinen Geschwistern zu beschützen, wenn sie zu hart mit ihm spielen, und so weiter, und so weiter.

Nala ist unser kleines Mädchen, das einzige im Wurf. Sie hält immer den Kopf hoch und schaut, wo man ist um zu kuscheln. Sie ist sehr sozial mit allen Menschen, aber auch mit ihren Brüdern.

Mufasa ist einer der großen Jungs. Er ist gerne draußen im Schnee. Am Anfang war er einer dieser Art von Welpen, die man leicht übersehen kann, weil er keine Probleme verursacht und einfach nur da ist. Aber jetzt will er mehr und mehr Aufmerksamkeit haben, vor allem, wenn er zu wenig Kuscheleinheiten bekommt – seiner Meinung nach 😂🙈

Rafiki ist unser kleiner Malamute. Vom kleinsten Jungen nach Simba ist er der größte aller Welpen geworden und mit seinem flauschigen Fell und seiner besonderen Farbe ist es wirklich nicht schwer für ihn, neue Besucher anzulocken. Aber er ist auch ein kleines Monster, wenn es ums Essen geht. Wenn du ihn nicht aufhältst, kommt er wie ein Bulldozer und innerhalb von Sekunden ist alles Essen weg 😋

Zazu entwickelte sich ein wenig in die andere Richtung. Solange die Welpen in unserem Haus lebten, war er immer der Erste aus dem Hundebett, um zu sehen, was passiert und bellte oft aufgeregt, wenn Personen näher kamen. Jetzt ist er ein bisschen ruhiger, manchmal sogar schüchtern in manchen Situationen und will immer nah am Menschen oder seinen Geschwistern sein, um sicher zu sein. Habt ihr übrigens die Veränderung seiner Fellfarbe bemerkt? Anfangs war er mehr oder weniger schwarz (mit etwas Weiß), jetzt ist er grau, eine ganz besondere Farbe und auch seine Augenfarbe ist etwas ganz Besonderes. Es kann sich noch ändern, aber im Moment ist es weder braun noch blau, sondern hellgrün.

Timon ist immer noch etwas ganz Besonderes mit seinen Punkten. Auch seine Farbe änderte sich. Seine Punkte sind nicht mehr schwarz, sondern grau und ich mag die gemischte Farbe auf seinen Ohren sehr. Er ist ein wirklich netter kleiner Welpe, nicht zu verrückt und sehr sozial.

Pumba ist unser dritter großer Kerl neben Rafiki und Mufasa. Er lässt sich gerne kuscheln – ok, wer nicht? ☺️ Er hört sehr gut zu und achtet immer darauf, was du sagst und was um ihn herum geschieht.

Du liebst sie alle? Wir verstehen das wirklich 😉 Deshalb haben wir eine Idee: Wenn du in der Gegend bist oder planst, Lappland in den nächsten Wochen zu besuchen, komm vorbei und besuche uns. Unsere Welpen sind jetzt zwei Monate alt, die beste Zeit zum Kuscheln und Spielen mit ihnen. Also, schreib uns, um einen Kennelvisit zu buchen. Coronasicher, da alles draußen stattfindet, mit vielen Informationen über Hunde und Mushing. Genießt das Kuscheln mit den erwachsenen Hunden in unserem Freilauf, während wir Kaffee über offenem Feuer kochen und macht natürlich wunderbare Fotos von den Kleinen. Die Zeit vergeht so schnell, also nutzt jetzt eure Chance 😊🐶🐾

Und nicht zuletzt noch ein Thema für heute: In den letzten Wochen haben wir viele Fragen bekommen, was ein Husky oder Husky-Welpe kostet und ob es möglich ist, sie zu adoptieren oder zu sponsern. Um diese Fragen zu beantworten: Wenn man einen Alaskan-Husky-Welpen kauft, kostet es oft zwischen 6000 und 12000 SEK, abhängig von den Blutlinien dahinter, dem Züchter, ob sie bereits Pass und Impfungen haben, etc. Man könnte also denken, dass die Zucht der eigenen Welpen viel besser ist. Ja, das ist aus vielen Gründen so, vor allem, weil man die Eltern sehr gut kennt und die Möglichkeit hat, die Welpen vom ersten Tag an zu sozialisieren. Aber natürlich gibt es auch Gründe, Welpen zu kaufen, z.B. man möchte eine neue Blutlinie im Kennel oder man möchte nur ein oder zwei junge Hunde haben. Wie auch immer, die Entscheidung, eigene Welpen zu züchten, ist nicht um Geld zu sparen. Man benötigt viel für Futter, Ergänzungsmittel wie Milchpulver, wenn nötig (wie in unserem Fall für Klein-Simba), Tierarztkosten, Entwurmung, Impfungen, Chips, Pässe, etc. Aber Hunde zu haben ist nie billig, man verzichtet auf monetäre Werte, um ein Leben mit den Hunden zu leben, das so viel mehr gibt, als Geld es jemals könnte. Dennoch ist es unser Ziel, unseren Hunden die bestmögliche Pflege mit gutem Futter, guter Ausrüstung und auch Tierarztbesuchen und Medizin zu geben, wann immer sie gebraucht werden.
